Report Cards/Parent-Teacher Interviews
- Term 2 report cards will be published to the portal by 3pm on February 23rd
- Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held in our school gymnasium on Thursday February 29th, 5:30pm-8:30pm

- To celebrate Black History Month, our Black Student Alliance has organized a Black Spirit Week

Extra-Help
- In-person academic support is available to all students after school on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in our library until 6pm
- On-line academic support is available to all students by appointment by accessing this link:

Course Selection Forms – 2024-2025
- Students will receive their course selection forms next Monday for the 2024-2025 school year
- I have attached copies of these forms to this email as well
- Your child should return this form to Ms. Pilon in office 221 by February 29th
- Our guidance team is presenting to all current grade 10 students over the next two weeks to explain graduation requirements and to answer questions about elective courses
Mean Girls Junior
- Our talented students are starring in Mean Girls Jr.
- Performances are Thursday February 22nd – Saturday February 24th at 7pm
- Tickets at the door are $7 for students of all ages and $10 for adults
- Doors open for general admission seating at 6:30pm
2024 Graduation Ceremony – Save The Date!
- June 25th, 2pm in our school Gymnasium
- Please note that each graduate can invite up to 4 guests
- Seating will be done in advance using a lottery system

- Please note that our formal final exam period will take place between June 10th-June 21st

D’Arcy McGee Midterms
- February 5th – 9th
- I have attached the midterm schedule for our D’Arcy students to this email
- Attendance during midterms and final exams is mandatory and as per the Ministry of Education Guidelines, only the following reasons for student absences will be accepted:
· Illness or accident confirmed by a medical report or certificate
· Death of a close relative
· A court summons
· Participation in a provincial or national event
- Regular classes will be running during the times when your child does not have an exam scheduled

Transportation
- We are aware that there have been some challenges with some bus routes since our return from the holidays
- Please know that we are working closely with the transportation department at the WQSB to help resolve these issues
- I have attached instructions on how to download the WQSB app to receive notifications regarding bus delays/cancellations
Heritage College Open House
- This drop-in event is taking place this Sunday, January 28th between 12:00pm – 3:00pm
- Parents and students from all grade levels are welcome to come tour the campus, meet with teachers and staff and learn about the different programs

Catch-Up Plan
- As you may have heard in the media, the Province has provided some funding to support students who may require additional academic support following the recent teacher strike
- We are developing our plan and will be offering this support to students who are at risk of failing or are at risk of not obtaining a necessary credit(s) for graduation
- We will reach out to families directly in a separate email next week for identified at risk students
Grade 7 & 8 Promotion Policy
- Please see the attached promotion policy for Symmes students
- Please note that D’Arcy students are promoted by course and not by grade – for example, if they fail grade 9 math, they may be required to repeat just this course
