Parent-Teacher Interviews

• Thursday, November 30^th, 5:30pm-8:30pm in our school gym
• All interviews must be booked in advance by clicking on this link:

Graduation Photos

• Grad photos will be held on December 18^th and 19^th (the studio recently changed the dates so they are different then what is listed on our school calendar)

The Environmental and Humanitarian group is hosting our Annual Christmas Classic Teachers Vs. Students basketball game in the gym at lunch on Thursday, December 14th. 

Tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria from December 11,12 and 13 for $5. Tickets at the door will be $7.

Popcorn will also be sold during the event. Students and teachers interested in participating in the match are encouraged to contact Ms. Jessica White or Ms. Ezekiel to sign up.

Here is some information for this week:

Teachers and Professionals Strike Action – November 6th

• Please see the attached letter from the WQSB
• All classes and transportation have been cancelled on November 6^th due to a Teacher’s Union and Professional’s Union strike action

Heritage College Program Exploration Day

• On November 16^th all grade 11 students are invited to attend this event at Heritage College
• Students will have an opportunity to tour the campus, meet staff and attend 2 workshops in the programs of their choice
• Permission forms can be found in Student Services – the deadline to submit a signed form is November 10^th

Attendance During Midterms/Exams

• To help families plan ahead, please note that the formal D’Arcy McGee Midterm period is between February 5^th – February 9^th, 2024
• Attendance during midterms and final exams is mandatory and as per the Ministry of Education Guidelines, only the following reasons for student absences will be accepted:

·         Illness or accident confirmed by a medical report or certificate

·         Death of a close relative

·         A court summons

·         Participation in a provincial or national event

Upcoming Events

Grade 9 Vaccinations

• Our grade 9 students will be receiving their planned vaccinations at school on November 2^nd
• Please refer to the attached document from the CISSSO

Homework Club

• Homework club is up and running!
• Students can go to the library after school from 3:35pm-4:40pm every Tuesday and Thursday
• There will be teachers available to support or students can use this time to independently complete homework or study

Western Quebec Career Centre (WQCC)

• Interested grade 10 and 11 students will have the opportunity to visit the WQCC to learn about the programs they offer
• The visit will take on the morning of October 25^th (students will be back in time for afternoon buses)
• If your child is interested, they should pick up a permission form in Student Services
• Signed permission forms are due on October 19^th

Photo Retakes

• Photo retakes will take place on November 16^th for students who were ABSENT on picture day
• A sign-up sheet will be sent in the coming days

Grad Hoodies

• Grad hoodies will be on sale until October 27^th from Ms. Richardson in room 318
• The cost of the hoodie is $50, payable by cash only to Ms. Richardson
• Sizing and colour options will also be available in room 318
