Here is some information for this week:
Grade 8 – Umbrella Program
- Next week, our grade 8 students will listen to a presentation on prevention given by the Gatineau Police during a Culture and Citizenship class
- I have attached a letter from the Gatineau Police to this email with additional details
Santa Photos
- Our Environmental and Humanitarian Group – the EH! Group, is hosting its second annual photos with Santa event on November 30th from 10am-2pm
- All families are welcome to attend
- The cost is $20 per family (cash or card) and there is no need to pre-book your timeslot – just arrive and wait your turn
- I’ve attached a flyer with information to this email

Here is some information for this week:
Parent-Teacher Interviews
- Interviews will be held in our school gymnasium on Thursday November 21st between 5:30pm-8:30pm and will be by appointment
- You can book your timeslots by using the following booking tool:

- This tool will become active after the publication of student report cards at 11am on Monday November 18th
- If you are unable to book a meeting, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher by email for individual student feedback
- Student council will be running a bake sale during the event so bring some cash to enjoy a treat!
Health Forms
- I have attached the 2024-2025 student health forms to this email
- If you haven’t already, please send a completed copy to Ms. Carrie Green at: cgreen@wqsb.qc.ca or have your child bring a hard copy to the main office

- On Monday November 11th, students will attend a Remembrance Day assembly where we will honour those that have served Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace
- We will have veteran guest speakers as well as participation from our student cadets and bands

Spirit Week!

Grade 9 Vaccines
- On November 12th and 13th our CISSSO nurse will be providing measles, rubella and diphtheria vaccines to students that need them

Grade 11 Graduation Hoodies
- Attention grads, it is time to place your order for your grad hoodie
- This year there are two designs to choose from, one with signatures and one without
- Ms. Richardson in room 318 has sample hoodies for sizing and colour options as well as the mock-up of the design
- The hoodies are $50 each and must be paid in cash to Ms. Lisa Richardson by November 7th
Photos for Absent Students

- This event will take place at our school on November 7th, 6pm-8pm
- There will be over 20 representatives/kiosks

D’Arcy McGee Midterms
- Please note that our formal midterm session for D’Arcy students is February 3rd – 7th, 2025
- Attendance during midterms and final exams is mandatory and as per the Ministry of Education Guidelines, only the following reasons for student absences will be accepted:
· Illness or accident confirmed by a medical report or certificate
· Death of a close relative
· A court summons
· Participation in a provincial or national event
- Regular classes will be running during the times when your child does not have an exam scheduled

Here is some information for this week:
Homework Club
- Starting next week, teachers will be offering FREE tutoring/homework support for our students
- This support will take place in our library on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:45pm-5:45pm
- Students who do not have transportation home will be provided with city bus tickets if required
Baseball!
- Our U14 and U18 baseball teams have both qualified for the semi-finals after an undefeated season!
- The U14 final will take place at 2:30pm on Saturday at the Russell Martin baseball field in Chelsea
- The U18 final will take place at 6:30pm on Saturday at the Russell Martin baseball field in Chelsea
- All are welcome to come cheer on our Scorpions and Gee Gees!

Here is some information for this week:
National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
- On September 30th, we will be observing the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
- We will be wearing orange shirts to honour the children who did not return home from residential schools as well as the survivors, their families and their communities
- Recognizing the tragic and painful history and it’s ongoing impacts is a necessary part of the reconciliation process

Letter From Public Health
- Please see the attached letter from Public Heath regarding outbreaks of whooping cough in certain regions of Quebec
College, University and Trades Evening
- This event will take place at our school on November 7th from 6pm-8pm
- There will be more than 20 representatives/kiosks with information for students and families
- I’ve attached a poster with more information – all are welcome!

- Please remind your child not to wear green on this day as it will impact the quality of the photo
